Issue 3 for MAS / MY ARTIST STORY designer toy magazine (FEATURES on TOYSREVIL) is currently orderable online here, with this issue having a dedicated them: "WOOD"!

This "Wood in progress"-issue features interviews with Wood you mind (Thailand), Ah B (Malaysia), Made by Henk (Indonesia), Kangblabla (Malaysia), Teera (Thailand) and Thinkinguse (Taiwan). In addition to these artist interviews, the magazine showcases toy customiser, toy collectors, presents the latest toy news, and offers recommendations for toy shops.



"Wood Toys" / "Wooden Toys" used to thrive pretty decent on TOYSREVIL thru the years, giving folks an opportunity to express and showcase/present their creations beyond vinyl/resin - very much like Paper Toys did - and for folks to be able to collect other than VINYL or RESIN, although they somehow remain on the fringe of mass consciousness, ironically (IMHO). At some point folks'll need to recognise it is not just about the medium they are presented in, but the essence of creation that births it, IMHO.





I have adored long adored his JUST A GIRL series of indie collectibles before his POPMART releases (which included HELLO NORI, NORI'S MORNING and NORI YOUTH LOOKBOOK)... and having a dedicated publication of the releases, PLUS artwork seen in the blind box as card and fold-outs, is pretty fun to have, IMHO.







Known for his scultping work for themed collectibles, Japan-based Pico Pico has released a handy booklet of Ai-generated Kaiju characters! Enjoying a creator embracing the medium and to continue creating, whatever the platform, IMHO.
