WHO-IS: Simon Bisley is a British comic book artist best known for his 1990s work on ABC Warriors, Lobo and Sláine. He started with work on ABC Warriors in 1987, later moving to Sláine and Judge Dredd.. (Wiki). His subsequent work on LOBO was a refreshing intro into mainstream comics, as well his work on "Verotik" in the 90s pepper my humble collection as well.

Flipping thru the pages of Bisley's illustration for A.B.C.Warriors on 2000A.D. (OG Art here), was a revelation to me then, when I felt it gave me permission to depict bipedal automation to be an exaggeration of anatomical requirements (broadAF shoulders with minuscule waists), and that my abject lack of drawing abilities would allow for imperfection (not that what I doodled meant any sliver of comparison to Bisley's art OMG no), but that sense of revelation subsequently informed my drawing styles, and inspired me to create BORG and LOK, and steadily into my adult life.
Above "'LOK AND BORG" was a working title of what I had started to pencil sequential form for, but never truly completed, alas ... but I did print out A1-sized posters of this doodle and even stamped/numbered it sequentially and gave them away for free at The Substation's Sunday Market! I still remember that one sole person who graciously took one with him not knowing who he is and what he does would be connected so much to my dayjob I still engage in, until this day LOL
I've not kept up to date to his art for decades now, ever since stopping actively collecting comicbooks, but this coming to SG is too irresistible to the fanboy me... Here's a video pageflip for his "HELLMASK" illustrated comicbook, cheers.
