STARSHIP TROOPERS (Trading Card Set for the 1997 Film)
The "word" is; Sony is rebooting Starship Troopers, with acclaimed filmmaker Neill Blomkamp taking the helm to write and direct. I have been a fan since his District 9 / Chappie / Elysium films (*All three covered on TOYSREVIL too - linkable, cheers), and even before that, so I am keen to see what he'll do for this adaption, which folks have reported "will follow the original Starship Troopers closely, exploring the novel’s military sci-fi roots, philosophical themes, and more serious tone," unlike the satirical style of Paul Verhoeven’s 1997 feature film adaptation, for which the following trading card set showcased here today is based on...!
From Inkworks comes the STARSHIP TROOPERS trading card series, based off the Paul Verhoeven-directed classic 1997 film. Numbering 81-cards in total (including Checklist Card), featured below are images of the (basic) card set, which featured a decent format/layout design, showcasing images from the film plus character profiles, while on the reverse side text descriptions of the scene and profiles.
What I also liked (and this is true for most "film"-related card sets I collect) are the "behind-the-scenes" making of the film, which in many ways is like "Extra Commentary" on a DVD, or literal "making off" publications, which appeals to me more than I let up. Way too little BTS for this series, I have to say tho...

I currently have 2 x complete hand-collated sets - with 1 available via TOYSREVIL at Miku Market, and the other to be listed on my Carousell ...but I have not seeked if I have the third set in folders (*Normally I'll keep a complete set for myself, I am still a "collector" after all :p)... but remembering Inkwork's collation rations, it'll be a safer bet that I could have pulled "3 sets" total... I hope?...
I remember having pulled chase cards for this series, and will share them here once I find them in my hoard, cheers.
