VINYLMATION @ MIKU MRKT via TOYSREVIL
According to Wiki, "Vinylmation" are collectible figures sold at Disney theme parks, select Disney Stores, and the online Disney Store. They were introduced and released in 2008.
I had "discovered" their existence when I purchased a bunch on my trip to Jakarta, Indonesia (at Pasar Pagi) circa 2009, and given the location and nature of these shops I'd visited apart of my toyhunt, I reckon these are "bootlegs"!
I had subsequently blogged about them on this blog too - predominantly custom-toys from names that I knew of.
Essentially they are "platform"-styled figurines, with a body base of a super-deformed/stylised "Mickey Mouse", and features multiple skin-designs showcasing other Disney and Pixar characters. And similar to BE@RBRICKS, the "ears" remain as part of the form, but are treated differently subject to the character design(s).
The ones I'd purchased include characters from Pixar's "Toy Story".
Featuring solid PVC, I had been decently impressed with these production pieces, although the "articulated" arm joints had been pretty loose for most. I had not come across nor own the "officially released" Vinylmation figures, so cannot speak on any comparisons, alas :p
I had stored these away in my hoard and had been "lost" for literal years, until recently excavated and now let loose at the TOYSREVIL-table at MIKU MRKT, available for a ridiculously affordable price too!
