about that pet zombie productions' pet zombie prototype figure
i recognize i have a slightly soft-spot for zombies. especially zombies with their brains hanging out (LOL) and Pet Zombie Productions' Pet Zombie-figure fits the zombie-bill-to-a-Z! ... i had a quick online-chat with the principals of Pet Zombie, namely Steve Fable and Little Lil, about their upcoming figure:
TOYSREVIL: what was Pet Zombie's genesis?
LITTLE LIL: ok, well the toy came about by firstly a conversation (well many really) between myself and Steve (Fable) about how we would love to make our art into toys. i made one of Steve's characters in plush form as a gift, he liked it so much we decided to work on a new project to make toys together!!
STEVE FABLE: We both decided that we would love to manufacture our own toys so made the company Pet Zombie Productions and pooled our money together. The first toy is based on my design for the company logo but in the future we plan on each having a fully vinyl made range based on a mix of designs.

TRE: sweet! are you folks producing the figure independently? and did you do the scultping yourselves? (am thoroughly loving the exposed brain = yummy! LOL)
SF: The sculpture was actually made by Monster5 who I personally know best for his Tequilla sculpt for Muttpop. He was the first person we emailed so we were over the moon when he accepted the job.
LL: personally i think he did an amazing job!! this toy will be made independently of any large company or (for the first run) large manufacturing process. each figure will be cast and painted by hand, by the artists themselves (us!). we not only want to make beautiful, quality toys but true collectors pieces too.
TRE: hand-painted? sounds great! a personal-touch is always nigh appreciated, IMHO ... what material would Pet Zombie be in? and what type of quantity / numbers are we looking at?
SF: Pet Zombie will be a resin cast figurine limited to somewhere between 2 and 3 hundred pieces. Each one will be hand finished by myself and Little Lil for a bit more of a personal touch but in the future resin figures will become rarer and vinyl will become our choice medium. We are aiming for a January 2008 release for the Pet Zombie toy.
TRE: Jan-08 is just around the corner too, looking forward to it! how big is Pet Zombie actually?
SF: The toy will be 6 inches high, 5.5 inches wide and 4 inches deep.
TRE: fulla zombie-luv no doubt LOL ... i know this may be a tad "early" to ask, but what's next for Pet Zombie? does it have friends waiting to burst forth to come out and "play"?
LL: theres definately more to come from pet zombie!! both myself and steve's brains are full to bursting with more creations and pzp projects. in the close future, an exibition including a diy plush project including collaboration customs from many artists. you can check out more info on this here: www.myspace.com/pet_zombie :)
SF: PZP has many plans for the future with another toy design in the works already but it's all down to how well we do with this first one.
TOYSREVIL: cheers for your time and trouble, Steve and Little Lil! best of luck for PZP (do keep us updated yeh?) ... and in closing, please share with everyone here: Who is PET ZOMBIE? and Who Is STEVE FABLE and LITTLE LIL?

STEVEN FABLE: Who is Steve Fable? Now there's a question. To be honest I have always doodled but it's only been recently I have really branched out into the art world. I have had art work exhibited in the UK, Argentina, Jerusalem, Italy, Miami and more and am currently working of a piece for the Fat Chunk anthology comic along side Jon Burgerman, Tweedlebop and more. Hopefully the future will hold more but I tend to take the world as it comes.
