hot toys x how2work's warlord 1/6th movie figures: zhao er-hu and jiang wu-yang
images of the previously blogged-about The Warlords 1/6 figures from the Peter Chan-directed movie, as produced by Hot Toys and How2Work (Figuremind) have surfaced online a coupla days back, including HT showcase display-pics in HongKong (CTMA Building)
this current collection includes Andy Lau and Takeshi Kaneshiro's characters in the movie, with lau as ZHAO ER HU and Kaneshiro in Regular and Special JIANG WU-YANG-editions = all slated for a January-2008 release (unconfirmed price @ US$140-per). "missing" from the current lineup is Jet Li's "Ma XinYi" [wiki]
kudos goes out to sculptor Yulli for her exceptional work and for J.C. Hong's painted-realism and truly hope that it carries across to production pieces. im personally a huge fan of ancient Chinese warrior battle-armor and weapons, and from the images shown thus far, they are astonishing = so this series excites me (not so the "price" tho but then that's the cost of good figures anyways, innit?) *le-sigh*

Takeshi Kaneshiro's JIANG WU-YANG comes in 2 editions/versions, REGULAR/NORMAL and SPECIAL: the JIANG WU- YANG (Normal version) is featured wearing civilian costume in Qing Dynasty with ancient sword, scabbard, belt and purse etc accessories. [images via OSW / info via Hot Toys]

there's also Jet Li's "MA XING-YI" currently (only) seen via magazine scan via ToysKingdom (which explains the pink LOL) and a profile pic from LuciferJ with him clad in battle-armor (i <3 warrior battle-armor*) for which i can only hope will appear in the subsequent release, along with both ZHAO ER-HU and JIANG WU-YANG in full warrior regalia :)
