Umbrella Academy PVC Set & Agent 0.05 Maquette @ New York Comic Con 2009

I personally really like the paint-app / color-shading, as it mirrors the artwork/ comicbook illustration style of Gabriel Ba - seen more prominently on Spaceboy (the giant-gorilla ina space-suit, in case you don't read Gerard Way's Umbrella Academy).
As blogged about earlier, the 6-figure PVC figure set (ranging from 2 to 5 inches tall) comes packed in a clear blister with Umbrella-topped dome. SRP is US$39.99 for a April 15th 2009-drop. I feel the dome+bucket-combo is a tad OTT and perhaps add on to the product's final cost. But then again it can be displayed as-is on a revolving-base and it'll work like a carousel, perhaps? As much as I WANT this set, I can hardly justify US$40 for it - but that's just poor-ass-me ... *le-sob*
The Umbrella Academy Book and Figure set sees Vanya, AKA The White Violin packaged along with a 5" x 7.5" hardcover of the trade paperback - 4" tall figure in 2-sided window box with 152-page hardcover book @ a SRP of US$24.99. I can not recommend the book enough, as I enjoyed it devastatingly - the eclectism bombards me as much as the different genres (both mainstream and deviantly sub-pop) pop-culture that pepper this blog of mine ... but I'm no expert in comicbook-reviews, and neither is Umbrella Academy just "purely a comicbook". Aiyah, go get the TPB lah! LOL
On display was also a AGENT 0.05 MAQUETTE! Size and product details undetermined tho :p
