R.I.P. Satoshi Kon
Japanese anime director Satoshi Kon has been reported to have passed away on August 23rd, 2010 at the age of 47 years old. 'Gainax employee Takeda Yasuhiro tweeted the news a short time ago, and it was confirmed by Madhouse's Masao Maruyama via the Otakon committee.'
And while my primary viewing experience had been the mind-bendingly splendid "Paprika" (a must-watch for modern Japanese anime, IMHO / Chris Nolan's Inception-parallel preposition), both his "Millennium Actress" and "Tokyo Godfathers" DVDs remain squirreled aside for that anime-marathon screening-day, which has now turned into a post-mortem celebration of the man's work intead. Sadly "Perfect Blue" (Satoshi's directorial debut) eludes me until this day still. Nevertheless, a sad day indeed for anime fans worldwide, IMHO.

"The remainder of the interview is the following:
Kon:One little thing leads to another and things start to fall apart. You focus on overcoming the obstacles in your life. Then you may start to question your existence and begin a journey of life experiences. Then you start to feel a sense of identity and realize what it is that you are here in this world to accomplish. It's a little difficult to explain."
