Collectibles for The Rhythm Of Red

Looking at the collectibles line-up to be available at the coming THE RHYTHM OF RED solo show by ABAO at BLAXK, I already know what I want! There's SNAIL BABY (whom I >missed getting at PTS), GLOOMY BEAR, BUNNY GIRL and CollectedCon's BEANS ... (*wipes drool away from side-of-mouth*) ...But alas, owning them is another plane off reality (post-Pop Toy Show, alas) ... sigh...



EVENT PRESS: Best known for creating adorable and whimsical designer toys, ABAO’s creations often feature round, chubby animal characters with a soft, pastel aesthetic. ABAO uses original illustrations as a blueprint to gradually materialize the little monsters in her mind. Her creations are always between grotesque and cute, exploring the world of characters that wander on the edge but are gentle. ABAO always believes that toys are not just objects, but artistic existence that can carry emotions.



EVENT PRESS (CONTINUED): Returning to Singapore in the blazing summer, ABAO focuses on red — the color that pulses with tropical energy — as the thematic hue for this new exhibition. Here, beneath the equatorial sun, red beats in varied rhythms, evaporating into the shared breath of the city lovingly dubbed “The Little Red Dot”. Together with the passion and energy of the color red, speed is the sustenance of the island – personified by MEDUSASA in her racer gear and uniform, raring to go the extra mile!
