The Art of Bukubuku launches January 1st 2011 @ Rivet Gallery (and exhibits thru Jan 30th). The solo show features the artwork of Berlin-based Bukubuku, also known as Silvia Portella Torres, and will showcase mixed media original works and framed original prints from the artist. Boo-Hooray presents a SUCKADELIC extravaganza opening January 11th, 2011 at the Suck Shoppe Popup Store, as curated by Johan Kugelberg and Simeon Lipman. The very name of the exhibition says it all: YOU'RE AN ASSHOLE FOR BUYING THIS: The SUCKADELIC Art Toy Universe
PRESS: "The Boo-Hooray Gallery reluctantly announces the first SUCKADELIC retrospective gallery exhibition. Intentionally confusing, misleading, disappointing and really funny, these limited edition parodies of action figures reverberate with a vicious wit and are oddly eyeball-pleasing in the manner of all kinds of toothsome 20th/21st century collage and montage art."
The 100 page exhibition catalogue will be available as a limited edition of 500 numbered copies. A deluxe signed limited edition catalogue of 50 copies with an exclusively created SUCKADELIC figure will also be available.

Clay Fergurson aka FERG helms his own solo show "Medium War: Squadt Show & Art" at Rotofugi - opening January 14th 2011 and exhibits thru February 13th [More Info]. No doubt the giant Squadt lying on the couch below will make an appliance, but we're not too sure the above-left print will be available at the show (Clay will be in attendance on the Jan 14-opening, so be sure to bug him for it) … Congrats, Clay!

Mr Clement launches his first solo exhibition in London on January 15th 2011, titled "hide & seek a mr clement exhibition – final day gala" @ Pyrus, the Basement Gallery (exhibiting thru Jan 20th). On hand will also be sonic artist Philip Cornett, in collaboration to what Me Clement describes as to create an unforgettable gala night to farewell the exhibition my sculptures and installations of Petit Lapin and other weird and new characters like the sleepy egg 'Dozy Tony'"

MPH PRESS: Rare Breed Exhibition opening 01.07.10
myplasticheart presents Rare Breed, featuring the triple threat of Angry Woebots, Scribe and kaNO. These three artists draw their influences from street and urban culture, and yet each comes from a distinctly different background and location in the US. These differences come through in their art as well as their way of storytelling. Please join us at the opening reception on Friday January 7th from 6-9PM. kaNO and Angry Woebots will be in attendance.
