Solid Boy @ Munny World Festival Indonesia (Flashback 2010)
WHAT: I was in Jakarta last year in late-September, as a Special Invited Guest by Plastic Culture for Munny World Festival Indonesia. I did not manage to finish my coverage. There are loads more to be shared. This is one such post…

And while I have referred to Indonesian-based Saltnpaper's SOLID BOY figure in the past, I have not had the opportunity to post about the actual wood-carved figure, which I had the chance to see and hold, in Jakarta last year. A cross between a traditional craft and the form of an urban infused character form with a heavy Eastern-theme, Solid Boy actually started "toy life" as a paper craft, named FAT BOY!
Now being made into a smaller resin figure (the sample of which was recently on show in Singapore circa STGCC 2010), here is the first time I am posting about the magnificent wooden Solid Boy, of which stock is sold out (or so my faded memories tell me). Shown here is creator Johanes Djauhari with his creation.
