the top six of 2005

:: LIFE IN SINGAPORE / BLOGS ::
tis the last day of the year 2005 and in a few short hours it'll be all but gone and forgotten (or would they really?) and so, instead of rambling on about my own "personal milestones" (and screw them "resolutions", 'coz they just be "excuses-for-stuff ya-didn't-do the-year-before", innit? *heh*) mayhap i'd liketa share this instead:

The TOP 6 Most Memorable-Happenings in the Local Blogosphere (and in me own blog), for the year ending 2005 (the toysrevil-version)

:: NUMBER 1 ::
undoubtedly the NKF Saga that swept the nation and had gotten the local blogosphere into a united frenzy. heck, i even had my fair 2-cents worth of personal venom and spittle ... and still the golden-taps and peanuts tumble on ...

:: NUMBER 2 ::
the uproar against SPG's display of her boobies on her blog and eventually being splattered across the blogoscape, as well as the nation's newsapers. for which i personally found such "undue attention" distasteful ... altho less so for the actual "tit-reveal", but more so for the "mindset"of said singaporeans/bloggers, and the even deeper underlying concept; which might be "tolerance" (?) or mayhap even a sense of "clarity" (but of coz im digressing until lost again *nahbey*) ... altho i claim neither to be a saint nor do i condone what had happened, mind ... darn, the fence sure is painful when ya sit on it for too long, innit? *heh*

:: NUMBER 3 ::
blog privacy (a personal twisted-bugbear) and rights and responsibilities of the blogger and they're blogs in 2005, especially with the incriminated PSC-scholar episode and the charged hate-bloggers, for which i had only offered a snippet of my mindmuck ... again not condoning their act (thoroughly against it all, actually) but mayhap questioning the underlying "effect" on how things are going to be might be "controlled"; or monitored from now on ... we dun wanna be end up like them bloggers in china now, do we?

:: NUMBER 4 ::
IRs / aka "Integrated Resorts", another golden nugget (*hyuk*), for which too i had initially hurled curses but eventually even managed a snicker or two.

:: NUMBER 5 ::
it's a tie between the Launch of Tomorrow.sg and The Blogger's Convention, (both a significant step/advancement/evolution of the local blogoscape, IMHO) - for which i deliberated for awhile before deciding not to attend ... *oh well* :p maybe next year? ... as for Tomorrow being on the right-track or not? i dun really much care at this point in time; frankly speaking - even with the recent "death of a blogger"-episode and the ensuing hooha ... or mayhap i be too *boh-chap*? ...

:: NUMBER 5 + 1/2 ::
and of coz trailing near the border-fringes were the blog-hackers/crackers, my personal pet-peeve with trolls and their ilk ... and of coz even the emergence of a "new/true singaporean-voiced-blogger" (and striking up a phenomenal number of blog-hits), but perhaps the "fame" (or "infamy") was fleeting (?) ... and do i give two-shittes really care about being labeled "infantile"? ... dun come read my blog lar, like that?! dun play wif you lieow lor, can? *sulk* *heh*

:: NUMBER 6 ::
are ALL of my own personal "blog milestones" (strictly "self-preservation", of coz) *heh*

[a] when my blog-status-quo (started) shifting on 26th October 2005 to a more "introductory"-style and away from my mindfcuks and innerturmoil

[b] when i kena tomorrowed once and was Browned twice.

*Disclaimer: coz im a mediawhore b'coz this here blog was "supposed" to be "private" in the first place .. or at least that was the initial plan lah .... *but tis all good now lah*

[c] when I started this blog on the 19th of february 2005 *heh*

and to all my frens, regular readers and even those of you who've wandered in here by mistake = HAVE A FAB NEW YEAR AND AN EXCITING 2006 TO COME!!!!

sorry if i was "shouting", but i hadda get your attention from the loud-party and booze-guzzling around y'all, innit?

*heh* ;p
