pimp my doll
:: TOYS / ART ::
when i first saw the poster for Pimp My Doll on VinylPulse, i didn't give it a decent read, except for oogling at the plush-figure featured ... and as i re-read it again on WMMNA, i surfed around further ... and began to like what i read:
"the Pimp my Dolls exhibition wants to be a testimony of a still young artistic movement but which arouses an international interest ... Pimp my Dolls questions the relation between the artist, the doll and the collector, by proposing a 360° view of the young creators worldwide. This first exhibition is meant to show the witnesses of the dolls to the yelling, which could be, by their forms and their colors, sometimes annoying or attractive ... In a world where everything is buyable, How far the artists are ready to go to sell themselves, or sell their dolls? Is dollyphilia a legal practice?"
the above is an excerpt from PimpMyDoll.Net, which in turn is presented by Papier Machine and the Pébroc Shop (Nantes). the exhibition opens in Venice @ Studio Camuffo on the 24th of March.
and the first image to appear online ("found" so far) is Grisha Morgenstern's Pink Ninja Gang!
and suddenly i really can't wait to see the rest of the plushes! (images will be posted if and when they are found :p) ... *whoop!*
