bionic woman 2007
replacing Lindsay Wagner (circa late 70's) as "Jaime Sommers", aka: The Bionic Woman, is Michelle Ryan, in NBC's new upcoming re-imaging of the "classic" tv-show = read more on Access Hollywood [via]in an attempt to sustain their (ratings) success with the superhero / super-powered HEROES, NBC has given the go-ahead for this retro-revivial, but instead of $6-million dollars (oops, that was the "dude", innit?), the new millennia bionic-fittings cost a cool $50-million instead (inflation and all dat lah - if not, go peep this "real" Bionic Woman) - i wonder if they'll still keep the iconic-bionic-sound-effect? = c'mon, you remember that bionic-sound right? (*heh*) ~ preview website online now ~
personally, Lindsay was "up there" with Lynda Carter, for me anyways (gawd my age is showing, innit? :p) - go down memory-lane with the original tv-show opening here:

*added new show synopsis & details - after the jump*
"Struggling as a bartender and surrogate mom to her teenage sister, Jaime Sommers (Michelle Ryan, "EastEnders") didn't think life could get much harder. But when a devastating car accident leaves her at death's door, Jaime's only hope for survival is a cutting-edge, top-secret technology that comes at a hefty price. With a whole new existence and a debt to re-pay, Jaime must figure out how to use her extraordinary abilities for good, while weighing the personal sacrifices she will have to make. Ultimately, it's Jaime's journey of self-discovery and inner strength that will help her embrace her new life as the Bionic Woman." [full text via SHH
Call me old crust, but I still prefer the classic Sommers any day. Yep, no fancy CGI back then, but heck that's why I love it. Wonder if they will do a renewal on Austin? Btw sighhh, they should leave HEROES alone.
ReplyDeleteus old crusts have impecable taste LOL
ReplyDeleteactually i hope they'd leave Steve Austin alone tho - otherwise it'll be just another tween-adventure, innit? *shudder*
why? what are they doing to HEROES?????
Heh heh heh gotta love the classics.
ReplyDeleteCan we say Space Academy, Hawaii F-) & Greatest American Hero?? LOL

Good point, good point. Austin should remain to be the good old Lee Majors. lol
They haven't done anything to Heroes yet except killing Issac in a couple episodes back. The show is doing good AFAIK. lol Just some spontaneous Sunday ranting consider how sometimes network execs kill a good show all of the sudden. Space: Above and Beyond comes into mind. Mind me Andy, guess all those mandollies plastic crack I sniffed lately have twisted my little driod brain all up. lol
look at what's happen to me ... i can't believe it myself ... suddenly im on top of the world, should've been somebody else = aaawww man! who can ever forget GAH?
ReplyDeleteand you know that Austin Senior would remain as a "guest star", while Austin Junior attends the same college as Clak Kent, yeh? muahahahahahah *sigh*
rant away bro - i've even yet to watch Ep.19-on, but i reckon tis time for Issac to die, as his head was sliced open when Hiro time-travelled first time around ... and yep, mandolly-crack can do that to ya! LOL
