patrick nagel's golden girl by super rad toys (& duran duran mvs)
frankly, i had absolutely no idea who "Patrick Nagel" was (and still don't ... lemme go wiki him :p) ... but then Supertouch mentioned Duran Duran's RIO album-cover, only then did it click LOL ... to be produced by Super Rad Toys, 14-incher vinyl figures will be made of his Art-Deco-clean-designed "girls" - starting with the currently shown GOLDEN GIRL (complete with Flashdance-sweats, no less - but no leg-warmers tho LOL) ~ /// CLICK FOR MORE (NSFW-ish)... the figures shown don't seem articulated, so i'll label them under "vinyl-statues" instead (with currently no dates nor further details) ... regardless of category, im appreciating SRT's exploration into the 80's kitsch-phenom myself, as has their foray with Plasticgod's numerous 80's-(re)-creations ... and altho they (iconic-80's toys) may not necessarily make for good "toys" per se, they do provide that trip down memory lane with a tad sense of "tangibility", perhaps? altho the one key thing about the 80's was the sense of "false facade", a cosmetic sheen of colors and sounds, so glorious gaudy they mark and scar that era (my time, baby, my time) ... just hope more effort would be made into the figure/s other than just "cosmetic", IMHO.

I'm a huge Nagel fan. I look forward to seeing the final on this, as SRT doesn't have it on their Web site.
