X002 Runcible Remembers by Cris Rose for Resin Collective (Apr 11)
X002 "Runcible Remembers" is the companion piece to X003 Rotund Mk1 and was created for The RESIN COLLECTIVE Show @ Red Hot Robot [tagged] by Cris Rose. (FYI: They are intended as a set, though maybe purchased separately). The Resin Collective show runs thru May 9th 2009
X002 Runcible Remembers incorporates an original 1950s radio belonging to Cris' late Grandfather, and so holds an additional sentimental value to him - which he felt apt for the piece. CLICK THRU to have a closer-look at X002, as well as it's backstory.
BACK-STORY: "February 2459. The retreating snows of winter had revealed a cache of childrens toys to Rotund, that lay hidden in the undergrowth for decades. Time had taken it's toll, so Runcible was tasked with repairing them for Rotund to play with. These were no random playthings however, Runcible recognised them instantly. Memories of the little girl flooded back, the child who 143 years perviously had tasked him to make her a rocking horse out of wood, the horse which now lay broken in his hands.
As the darkness filled his head, he sank to the ground and sent Rotund away. Terrible things had happened, he needed to know why. But for now, he had a rocking horse to make."
