Rotund Mk1 X Custom by Cris Rose for Resin Collective @ Red Hot Robot (Apr 11)
In addition to the earlier-posted resin figures (JET & RAY) - UK-artist / creator Cris Rose has completed for this coming weekend's RESIN COLLECTIVE group show @ Red Hot Robot (April 11th / tagged) - there are two "special" pieces yet to be seen, with one being revealed here: presenting Rotund Mk1 "X Custom" under glass!

The second custom; Runcible Mk1 "X Custom" under glass (titled "Runcible Remembers") is currently under wraps til the day of the event itself! Both X02 and X03 are intended as a set - though may be purchased separately. (And both were sneaked a while's back on TRE).

CRIS ROSE explains his X Customs concept:
From the very first sketch, i wanted my robots to exist in a persistent world, one that i could explain and explore through their resin incarnations. At the same time, i wanted to ensure that i was producing affordable versions of my characters so that as many people as possible could enjoy my artworks. Therefore i decided to create 3 versions of my figures, the "Edition" that would come in runs of 5 - 20, the "Custom" that would be one-off but affordable, and the "X Custom", a unique little bubble of their universe that showed them interacting with it and continuing their story.
Initially X Customs are only being supplied to galleries and shows as the time and care taken over each one is extremely high, but i may be taking commissions of them in the near future. Please contact me for details at cris@crisrose.co.uk if interested.
X03 Rotund Mk1 (backstory):
"February 2459. The retreating snows of winter had revealed a cache of childrens toys that lay hidden in the undergrowth for decades. Naturally playful and childlike, Rotund was overjoyed! After gathering them up, he took them home for Runcible to repair. He was soon sent away to play elsewhere so that Runcible could concentrate - one of the toys seemed to have captured his interest more than the others and he wanted to be alone....
Rotund didn't notice though, he loved finding treasure and this was the best haul yet! He bounded off, swinging his arms and tail in joy and greeting all the new plants that were shooting up from the ashes."
