Circuitous Psnail Comes Alive in Resin by Neon Monster

Neon Monster’s first resin art debuted at the recent Art Basel Miami 2009 ~ dubbed The Circuitous Psnail ~ it is based on art by Reuben Rude and fabricated by Julie B of Pretty in Plastic. 5 different colors in an edition of 10 pieces each are currently made available. Each figure measures 10 inches and has a translucent quality to the resin, which from these images, seems pretty sweet (as sweet as snails can get, I reckon~ and no, they are just lit that way, and not self-lightable). Jeremy Brautman reports from Art Basel that Neon Monster will likely make more characters in different materials (a plush Mitch drops next month) if reception is positive. (Cheers for the headsup, Jeremy)

Do check out Neon Monster's "Bestiary" section for perhaps hints on what to expect in time. FYI: The "tree stump" coffee table posted below is by John Crowe. [Source: NM-blog]
