The Beast Brothers will next unleash a 8" custom dubbed CALENDARIO - based on their design in the Azteca Dunny Series 2 from Kidrobot. Currently neither quantity nor price is revealed, but the images are way cool, aren't they. [Snaps via Flickr]

Gabes_NiteGmers

This is less of a feature but more of a personal geekfest, with showcasing extreme customizer Nervis Wrek's earlier 2010-Halloween NIGHT GAMERS collabo-release with Plaseebo (which I missed the first time around, and currently available online here), which also directed me to the WIPs shown below, as seen on his twitter, and they are extreme indeed! My eye's on the MOD-1 custom to come!

Plaseebo shares with us some custom vinyl mash ups for the upcoming ONE OFFS show @ Super7, opening Saturday January 29th, 2011. As usual surreal in the way only an "American Kaiju" can gratifyingly showcase, IMHO.

FIREROBO-CUSTOM-01

TEXT: Super 7's "The One Off's" show is coming up fast and Mikie Graham aka zombiemonkie is finally ready to show off his sizzling hot submission; A custom Monster Family "Fire Robo" figure turned loving Fahrenheit 451 tribute. Inspired by the image on the cover of a 1960's paperback, Mikie tweaked the Fire Robo's design to fit the fire man character from the story. He added extra details like the phoenix crest (the fireman's logo) emblazoned on the helmet and the tiny temperature gauge on the characters chest that reads "451" (the temperature which books burn).

Mikie adds: "For those of you who haven't read Fahrenheit 451, in the book fire men burn books "for the good of humanity" helping to create a dystopian society of forced ignorance. The book is a cautionary tale of censorship that is especially relevant today."

rotobox-2011-banner

From Spencer Ong of Philiippines-based design duo of Rotobox Vinyl Anatomica comes a banner image of nigh-epic proportions, featuring a boxed montage of their works (most of which has been covered relentlessly on TOYSREVIL). HUGH-ROSE-APACHE-02

HUGH: "'Apache' was commissioned by a customer in Australia, who gave me free reign to create whatever I wanted. I came up with this, Apache, who is a cybernetic athlete, and his design is inspired by the art of the Apache Native Americans and Racing/Fighter Jet decals."

HUGH-ROSE-ONEOFAKIND-1
HUGH-ROSE-ONEOFAKIND-2

HUGH: "'Oneofakind' was commissioned by funk/hip hop promoter and DJ, Oneofakind, who wanted me to create 'an ode to all things funk and hip hop'. For this piece I tried to draw inspiration not only from the music, but also from the album covers, flyers and fashion design of the 80s/ early 90s."
