Man of Steel Suit: The Look of Superman
The "Man of Steel" sans signature 'red underwear' worn on the outside? Snapped on the film-set in the Plano, Illinois are these images which show actor Henry Cavill as "Superman" in this variation of his super-suit (with removable cape - which actually likes like a curtain-drape). Am not too quick to judge the design, but looks like the Superman I/we are used to in the past, might well be a memory and confined to Christopher Reeve DVD-movies.
Director Zack Snyder brings the Last Kryptonian to the new millennium and there's be tons of toys to be had. Looks in line with Jim Lee's recent rebooted image, doesn't it?

Interesting. It looks quite a bit like the costume from "the new 52" which I doubt is a coincidence.
ReplyDeleteI got no problem with having the last son of Krypton playing Malibu Ken with the supersuit in the comics. Because they always go back to the original icon supersuit. No costume redesign has ever stuck.
ReplyDeleteBut putting a really bad costume redesign in a Superman movie? Warner Brothers realizes that doing this cuts down on audience recognition, right? They'll stop short at the ticket counter an wonder who's the guy not wearing Superman's costume.
Yeah, I'm sure they know how much they're screwing this up. Good job Warner Brothers!
