#TOYPIXDAY: Bototoy

BOTOTOY

BOTOTOY [Bot-O-Toy] is an all-wooden articulated toy designed by Arnold Austria and has it's design based on the concept of a box-like robot. Made in the Philippines, my Bototoy stands a massive 14" tall and features 7 points of articulation. And while I am would not necessarily term this an "art toy" (and neither has it claimed to be one in the first place), the sheer size of this retro-looking figurine gives it a swell nod to old jumbo-sized vintage toys, IMHO.

And ironically, in a country who is currently blossoming into quite a producer of limited edition resin toys, in all shapes and colors, BOTOTOY stands out with it's economical form and finish.

Read more about it's origins via the info part of the BOTOTOY's Facebook-page and check out the various customs of the figure in the PHOTO-albums. Personally, I would be happy to keep the BOTOTOY in it's own original wood finish :)

(Thanks for the lurve, Arnold!)
