Your TOYSREVIL Guide to ToyCon UK 2013: Custom Showcases
There is not surprisingly a slew of custom showcases happen at ToyConUK on April 6th - of varying sizes and types, and most notably of pieces based on original characters! With the sheer number of practitioners of the art toy and pop culture realm in the UK, this would indeed be a treat for the visual senses!
Here is a quick run-down of what shows to expect, and do feel free to send in snaps, folks! I would love to be able to share them with the world too!
Project QiQi show put up by Creo Design, based on the character from ZiQi Wu - will see the biggest custom showcase for the event thus far! Check out features on TOYSREVIL thus far, and check out individual customs with prices here on Facebook.
War Tourist Artist Series [FEATURED] featuring interpretations of Planet Domu x Run DMB's 4-inch tall "War Tourist" resin from 9 artists. Check out toyconuk.com for item price-list! The blank DIY version of War Tourist will also be made available for £45 each (20 available).
Evil Origami & Little Ox at the ALTO booth sees customs from a variety of artists on show. Purchasing enquiries direct to the folks at the booth, I reckon!
Custom Giant Embryos at the Taylored Curiosities booth, featuring 7 pieces by Lisa Rae Hansen, Matt ‘Lunartik’ Jones, UME Toys, Nervis Wrek, Loz Boz, Stitches and Glue and Chris Alexander of Creo Design [FEATURED] and as well an 8th piece to be customized "live" by Jon=Paul Kaiser at the event!
Blue-Frog World's Custom Resin Series - 'Masks of DOOM' will see two masks customized by each of these artists: UME Toys, Don P, BashProjects.com, Messymedia, Dr. Barbados and Uncle Absinthe.
Folks might be seeing a lil'showcase of the Mr Busy figure at the MintyFresh booth - here is a sampling from Don P and Bas Bash Petter:
