MUNKY KING PRESS: "This year at San Diego Comic-Con 2013, Munky King is proud to highlight new pieces by Doktor A & Anthony Ausgang as well as a collaboration by Luke Chueh and Jason Freeny. A note to customers: While we're away at Comic-Con, the Munky King online store will be not shipping until Wednesday July 24th when we return. If there are any pieces left over from SDCC they will go online Wednesday July 24th at 12 Noon PST."

WHAT: Each piece was hand-casted and hand-painted in Los Angeles to preserve the quality of the original. Plus Luke added his own touch to the back wall to make each one unique.

WHAT: 'Being huge fans of Doktor A's work, we were estatic when he agreed to let us produce his toy. After the initial shock of seeing the complexity of his design, we took on the challenge of creating a piece that would stay faithful to his vision. Dave Pressler and Pretty in Plastic teamed up for the original sculpt and really captured the intricacies and organic-ness of Mr. Pumfrey and his steed. The finished piece stands 8 inches tall and features a removable Mr. Pumfrey and lots of detailed gadgetry. Clear lenses house the inner gears and organic tentacles flow out of the steampunk cockpit.'

WHAT: 'Bomb Cat dropped many years ago as a limited edition art multiple. Sculpted by Dave Pressler and based on an illustration by Anthony Ausgang for the cover of LA Weekly in 2000. We've teamed up with Ausgang and Pressler to refine the sculpt and re-release the figure. The first colorway features an all-black matte finish, cast in resin, with gold chain and wick.'

Munky King's 6th Annual SDCC Party @ BASIC urban kitchen + bar

WHAT: 'Armed with nothing but black paint markers, artists battle it out on white walls for pride, honor, and free beer at VERSUS, an art battle royale. The arena...Munky King's annual San Diego Comic Con Party, hosted at BASIC urban kitchen + bar.

Hailing from diverse backgrounds and genres, artists pair up and collaborate on a piece, going head-to-head with another live-painting team. At the end of each round, the crowd decides (via decibel level) which team moves up the bracket until a pair of champions is crowned.

John Stokes of SpankyStokes.com will serve as the battle emcee. Munky King's resident DJ, R-Rated, mans the turntables to keep the party going. Featuring renown artists Food One, Angry Woebots, Dez Einswell, Jerome Lu, Podgy Panda, Deph, Rocom, Mike Huddleston, Martin Hsu, Jeremiah Ketner, Gmonik, and Jorge Gutierrez. VERSUS is sure to be a highlight of everyone's Comic Con experience.'
