Toy-Review: Star Eater / SMD5 by Jeffrey Lamm x Unbox Industries
Designed by Jeffrey Lamm and produced by Unbox Industries, the Galactic STAR EATER is a splendid slice of toy this side of the Milky Way. The vinyl figure is also known as "SMD5" - which essentially refers to the "Space Mining Division 5" concocted by Mr Lamm, which features "Giant Mutated Robot Monster, Clonedand Modified for Deep Space Mining Operations" (as so mentioned on the header card).
A variety of colorways has been released and is about to be released, mot recently being the EVA inspired purple-hued+green accented beauty, and the upcoming editions for ToyConUK and ATC / Art Toy Culture in Korea.
This piece I am reviewing today however, is a singular one-off piece, unavailable for sale anywhere else - featuring the 23cm tall figure made up of vinyl test pulls reassembled in the Unbox HQ by the deft hands of Leo (thanks!) and thanks to the generosity of Dan Willett, for which I am now grabbing unto dear toylife and displaying with the radiance of smiles to dazzle the ages LOL ... Here are some snaps to show off the piece:

One of the aspects that makes this creation as unique - beyond it's form - is the reveal of it's "secret" found underneath the external horned three-eyed monster head with rock crushing jaws: A ROBOT HEAD! The exposed brain is utterly awesome too LOL
Superb sculpt and design. Splendid production piece. Articulated at the arms and legs. Turnable head at neck. Removable head/helmet. All around awesomeness = seriously, what else do you ask for in a collectible as such?
Give these folks a follow and stay tuned to further awesomeness:
