Seen@STGCC2017: Calvin Chua / Stormbrush
On display at the past weekend’s Singapore Toy, Games & Comic Con 2017 were a couple of unique original creations by local illustrator / concert artist Calvin Chua of Stormbrush - featuring “Kanza” in half-torso bust (we last saw him on display at IAF2016), now in two colorway editions available to purchase.
As well on display were a trio of colorway editions of “Hell Leapers” - alongside his original concept illustrations (featured below) which were also available as prints. Both Kanza and Hell Leapers exist in the same universe, a universe shrouded in stories I cannot wait to know more of, IMHO…
What I had adored about these creations where that they were borne from his mind and imagination, and not necessarily “appropriations” of pop culture iconology the many folks are wont to do these days, IMHO.
