Open Invitation for “Merlion Figure Custom Show”

Great Twins is currently looking for toy-customisers to work on their "Merlion" vinyl collectible figure, to be exhibited in a line-up of events and expos throughout the rest of the year (From July 2018, to January 2019), and wants to invite YOU to be apart of the touring custom show!

Email your Name, Nick and www-locale where we can view your art & works (Your Behance, Instagram, Facebook Artist Page etc - or a link to your past custom-works? Better Still!) direct to "tcl@greattwins.com" (with the Subject Title: "Merlion Custom Show (Open)"), thanks!

Upon approval of your application, Great Twins will offer either the 2-inch or the 8-inch tall vinyl figure for you to work on.

The "timeline" is pretty tight here, with finished customs to be received no later than July 10th, 2018, to be able to greet the public for the first event!

1. NAME OF THE GROUP CUSTOMS SHOW:

1a. “Merlion Figure Custom Show”

2. WHO CAN APPLY?

2a. The invitation is open to everyone on the face of Planet Earth, for ages 18 and above (at time of submission).

3. CAN I APPLY FOR CUSTOMS IF I HAVE JOINED THE FIGURE DESIGN CONTEST?

3a. Yea, applicants can have joined the "Great Merlion Figure Design Contest" and also take part / apply for the Customs Show.

4. IS THERE A RESTRICTION ON THE AMOUNT OF CUSTOM PIECES FROM A SINGLE CUSTOMISER?

4a. One customiser is *responsible for one piece of 2inch Merlion, or one piece of 8inch Merlion, or both 2inch and 8inch Merlions (*to be determined by Great Twins).

5. IS THERE ANYTHING I SHOULD LOOK OUT FOR WHEN CUSTOMISING THE MERLION?

5a. This contest is rated "PG-16".

The "Merlion" is a "national mascot character" representing Singapore, no religious, defamatory, adult imagery or connotations are allowed nor will it be accepted. "Great Twins" reserves the right of refusal of submission deemed inappropriate, without any form of clarification or notice.

5b. Great Twins will retain the right to destroy the custom piece that breaks this rule, and custom will not be returned to the customiser in any way, shape or form.

6. WHO IS RESPONSIBLE FOR FREIGHT COSTS / DELIVERY?

6a. Great Twins will be responsible for all freight costs and delivery handling (by providing their DHL/UPS/Fedex account), but the customiser has to be responsible for securely packing your own piece(s) for delivery, and as importantly to avoid damages during transportation.

7. WHO IS LIABLE FOR LATE/LOST/DAMAGED ITEMS IN TRANSIT?

*7a. Great Twins will not be responsible for the delay, damage or loss of item while in transit/being transported/being delivered from Artist to Great Twins, or visa versa.

7b. The Customiser will provide the airway bill for Great Twins to track the parcel after it’s being sent out (They have to be able to track the status of the parcel).

8. WHEN DOES THE FINISHED CUSTOM NEED TO REACH YOU BY?

8a. The first/primary deadline for your customs to reach Great Twins (China-based Address TBC) is July 10th, 2018.

8b. The secondary deadline is for you to propose, subject to approval from Great Twins.

9. HOW DOES THE SALE OF MY CUSTOM PIECE WORK?

9a. Finished, received and approved customs will be on exhibit at the shows listed. Great Twins will have the customs on auction or sales at select shows.

*9b. Any custom pieces sold will be divided into the following percentage: Artist/Customiser (50%), Great Twins (50%), in the currency of where the event is being held and customs being sold.

9c. Sales Price can be converted USD$ based on the exchange rate at that period of time.

9d. Payment will be done via bank transfer and each party will be paying for their own bank fee.

9e. If in the event your custom piece is not sold at any of shows during that time, it will be either be returned to you / the customiser in February 2019, or Great Twins will make an offer to own it.

10. IF MY CUSTOM PIECE IS SOLD IN THE FIRST DISPLAY VENUE, WILL IT BE TAKEN AWAY AND NOT BE ON DISPLAY AT THE NEXT VENUE?

10a. For example: If your custom is sold in the first venue, it will not be displayed at the next venue, but Great Twins can invite that customiser to custom another one (probably different theme or design to be fair for the person that bought the previous custom) if he/she still keen to be showcased in the next venue.

11. CAN I POST WORK-IN-PROGRESS OF MY CUSTOM ON SOCIAL MEDIA?

11a. The artist/toy-customiser is welcomed to showcase your work-in-progress images on your own social media channels, along with where the custom is headed for!

11b. Please feel free to use the hashtag #greatmerlioncustomshow.

11c. The reveal of the final custom on your social media, is for you, the artist, to decide.

12. DISCLAIMER:

12a. The Terms and Conditions of this “Merlion Figure Custom Show” is subject to changes by Great Twins without prior notification or warning.

12b. Great Twins has the Right of Refusal for items deemed inappropriate for exhibition, without prior notice nor consent.
