ODDZILLA by IKY

Here's a "first look" at "ODDZILLA" sofubi figure from one of my fav Indonesian-creators, IKY (Interviewed in 2023), with this scheduled to debut at the coding Jakarta Toys Fair (Jan 31-Feb 1, 2026)! Stay tuned for further product and availability details, cheers.

Besides the images revealed, so too has @iky.z shared his toy-story for this figure, which to me makes a whole lot of difference and depth into the toys we choose to collect, and make (IMHO)...

"This is not just a toy. This is a long journey.
Looking back to my childhood, I was just an ordinary kid who loved toys. I had to save up to buy action figures, and I always felt proud whenever I owned a figure with the label “Made in Japan.” Back then, I never imagined that one day I would be creating toys myself.

The journey has been long. Years of struggle, trial and error, ups and downs, joy and disappointment. But because my love for toys never faded, the desire to keep creating stayed alive. Coin by coin, rupiah by rupiah, dollar by dollar, I finally gathered the courage to produce this Oddy sofubi using my own savings.

I was honestly nervous. This wasn’t a small investment, especially starting from zero and not coming from a wealthy background. Many things had to be sacrificed along the way. But today, I feel proud!"

"When I finally received this Oddy in my hands with a Made in Japan label and my own logo, i couldn’t help but feel emotional. Maybe it looks excessive to some, but for me, this moment represents a long and sincere creative process.

This step is not merely about business or strategy. It’s about staying honest with myself, continuing to explore, and creating freely. I’m deeply grateful to all the collectors, close friends, and everyone in the toy community who continues to support my work. The journey continues."
