1/6 zombie figures from sideshowtoys and peril unlimited

*WARNING: GORY TOY IMAGES AHEAD*

i reckon my "fascination" with zombies started with Marvel Zombies comic [blogged], which led to other zombie comics (like Robert Kirkman's Walking Dead) ... frankly, i never did like any zombie flicks, with the exception of Army Of Darkness and 28 Days Later (LOL) ... and the closest i've gotten to a purchased "near-zombie" 1/6-figure, was Evil Ash and the awesome Jason Voorhees from Sideshowtoys ... which of coz led to my (eventual) own zombie-themed Red Hunt kitbash (*heh*) ... and with that, tis a boon for the 1/6th-hobby when two Zombies-figures are being released for choice, namely Sideshowtoy's upcoming Subject 560: Corporate Spokesman, and Peril Unlimited's The Zombie Army Builder Program: Ash The Zombie figure.

*details after the jump*

starting with a "newsflash" of their 1/6th "The Dead" zombie-line being cancelled, which led to a video-announcement - fans knew something was amiss - and lo and behold, t'was a "clever" promotional gimmick leading up to the launch of the Subject 560: Corporate Spokesman 1/6th-figure (featuring the spokes-person in the video - who was "obviously" bitten/infect, via the neck LOL)

a SDCC-exclusive (for pick-up only), the figure is limited to 1250 pcs and priced @ USD$44.90 - undead-dude comes handcuffed to a briefcase filled with a Defense Weekly Magazine and Top Secret Folder w/ Photos - *heh*

on the other side of the "corporate-arena", is fledgling start-up Peril Unlimited by founder and president Michael Jones, with their 1/6th Zombie Army Builder Program - starting with Ash The Zombie:

two versions of Ash is available, a "Bloody" and "Clean" version, retailing for USD$40 and USD$30 respectively. the reason being: "Variety and Price ... The two different zombies offer people a chance to build their army. If you have (the "bloody" version), great. I detail the zombie myself. However, if you have $30, you can still get a fully clothed 12" zombie figure and 'gore' him up, kit bash him and build your zombie army!" - says Michael, as interviewed Figures.com ... and what i really dig about the figure, is that it comes packed in a "Coroner's black-bag" = *fab touch*
