Toy-Review: Honoo The Flame by Leecifer x Super7
"Honoo" / "The Flame" is produced by Super7 and is based on a design from artist and customizer Leecifer (his first for Super7). The 4.5 inch tall figure was released on February 26th (in a two-man art / release show, alongside Paul Kaiju), and is a part of the "Monster Family" series of mini vinyls.
Posted here is the very first production "Honoo", as gifted by Lee Gajda himself (thanks, buddy!), and came shrouded in bubblewrap, along with pins and postcards (posted here), so no packaging snaps (sorry folks). The figure features a single point of articulation in it's neck, and no, the limbs/arms do not move, even tho they look like they do (kudos to the sculpt-work!). And as well this features a swell sculpt with a mixture of stumpy-wooden "legs" and "flame"-body, in very swish colors ala an amazing paint app, IMHO. Might I remind folks this is a "production piece"?
The contrasting blue in the mouth as well marks this as a Leecifer-styled figure and use of colors, and no doubt there might be more colorways to come. Looking forward to them, seriously so.
I really cannot tell you how much this figure was pegged at initially, as stock seems to be sold not since and I cannot authenticate this info. But hell this is an awesome vinyl figure to be had (and as well my very first Super7-toy too) and has been standing beside my laptop ever since receiving it. Snag this when you come across it, or you will regret it, IMHO.
