parallel art worlds in one
cruising thru the various online portals had gotten me doing a second (and sometimes third) -take on what is currently being "offered" now ...
as mentioned via StrangeCo., Chris Reccardi and Lynne Naylor presents Galaxie: art from outer space (cool stuff!) ...
which reminded me of ye old cartoons of 50's Mr Magoo et al; featured on Cartoon Modern [via BoingBoing]
which might have influenced some of Tim Biskup's "earlier" works ...
._.
as did the art of d'Holbachie Yoko [via Vinyl Pulse] ...
which in turn reminded me of (one of my favs) the fantastical imagery of Jim Woodring
read an interview with Jim via StrangeCo.
... and in the end, tis all good - for as people have their each and own inspirations/influences, voices and talents - so too does this ever-shrinking-globe which becomes this incredible melting-pot of cultures and design ... and the singular language (of different genres) that ties us all with each other (and this sure ain't no rah-rah-heal-thy-world-B/S ima trying to pull, yeah?) and i am happy for what the world has to offer us now ... so go support them now, go ... and if the day comes when they decide to collaborate with each other? WHOO-HOO! ~ that'll sure be a stunner or two, innit?
*i can only but wish and wait*
