TOYSREVIL Turns Ten!

So Jerry said to me; "It's like raising a young child!", and that is more true than anyone realizes (Damn this might well be the closest I'll get to experience "fatherhood" in this current lifetime LOL). Spending ten years tending to this blog, caring for it, stressing over it, nurturing it, having and losing three relationships during this decade of online commitment, spending tons of money on it (…okay fine, "spending tons of $ on toys for myself" :p) … TOYSREVIL just turned 10 Years Old today on February 19th, which also happens to be the first day of Chinese New Year in 2015!

"Double-Happiness", much? :)

As well, running the blog is now officially the longest "job" I have ever had in my entire adult life! Do folks get a gold watch on occasions like this? Or a silver watch? I never could be sure hahahaha

In the early years of blogging, pre-Stroke 2010, I shut myself in my bedroom and blogged like heck! Haha ... Since then I've lost my ponytail and longhair, and blog from a tiny laptop now ... Really need to upgrade to a desktop and soon! #TOYSREVILFundRasiingToySale soon :) #tbt ... A corner of #TOYSREVILHQ where I sat and blogged for a good few years post-Stroke, space now taken up by clutter of my hoarding ways ... Blogging in my bedroom now, which is not ideal but alas, "life" needs to go on regardless of ideals and dreams. #ToysrevilTurns10 tomorrow at 6AM.

Some numbers to crunch and take in …

- Pageviews all time history (May 2010 – February 2015) is 18,312,952 (Google Analytics)

- I have posted over 30,000 blogposts (close to 31K actually but not yet)

- Current toy-related blogpost with the all-time (May 2010 – February 2015) most pageviews is for "Despicable Me 2" Minions @ McDonalds Singapore coming in at nearly 24K hits

- Current non-toy blogpost with the all-time (May 2010 – February 2015) most pageviews is for RoboCop 2013 Revealed? clocking in at slightly over 30K

- The most blogposts I have published for a single day was 30 posts in 4 x different days between 2011 to 2012 (looks like I worked "harder" after surviving Stroke :p): 16/3/2012 / 21/7/2011 / 22/7/2011 /23/7/2011

- The last 5 of these 10 years were spent blogging after my Stroke in 2010.


In the coming months, with the kind collaborations with friends and artists - TOYSREVIL will be unleashing 10 x Exclusive Edition Toys, (at least) one per month, for ten months, until the year's end, in a project simply titled "10x10", which also includes self-published zines and booklets. Meanwhile, it's back to blogging / instagramming / facebooking and all other forms of social media engagement that fill my days (along with toys, watching anime, of course). In May I will be heading over to Jakarta for Popcon Asia 2015, so will be looking forward to be meeting folks there!
