Singapore Comic Con (December 7-8, 2019) #SCC2019

The annual "Singapore Toy Games & Comic Con" is now officially known as the SINGAPORE COMIC CON (SGCC), with the event happening in a weekend date of 7th and 8th of December, 2019, at Marina Bay Sands, Level 1, Halls A, B & C.

And while folks might have missed the organiser's intent (check out the end plate of the video below), or even the huge wall of sticky notes at the convention hall itself (see snap at base of this post :p), today on April 1st (*Hella effort for a "April Fools' Joke" tho :p) is the "official" word from organisers ReedPOP (across all their social medias), who also helms a wide variety of geek cons we are familiar with, including New York Comic Con, and Asia based Indonesia Comic Con and Shanghai Comic Con.

"Previously known as Singapore Toy, Game & Comic Convention (STGCC), we are South East Asia’s ultimate celebration of the best of Western and Asian pop culture. From toys, collectibles, comics to cosplay, there is something for everyone to experience!

SGCC continues to curate the best of toys, comic and gaming content from across the globe to keep things fresh for our fans. We hope that our fans will continue to extend their love and support towards us, as we enter a new phase of our journey."

I'd been witness to only one name change back in 2009, where "Singapore Toy & Comic Convention" had changed to "Singapore Toy, Games & Comic Convention" (*And it was also that first time TOYSREVIL helmed a booth :p,) when the show changed hands from Play Imaginative to ReedPop ... and with this "announcement" now, folks have effectively entered a "New Era" in the geekdom of Singapore.

And while I had shared some of my opinions and thoughts thru the years, I am - and have always been - interested to hear what YOU think! Would anything else have changed, besides the "event name"? Do share with us - in the comments section - what YOU think should and could, and what you hope the event can bring you this year end?

And NO, I am currently in no way affiliated with the event or organizers ReedPOP, but am interested in your thoughts/opinions/hopes&dreams.

Cheers
Andy TOYSREVIL

P/S: I am reminded of last year's event (Thanks, Sue Shi Yuan), which happened exactly on the same weekend of Beijing Toy Show, for which plenty of folks attributed to the lack of showing at STGCC - both in my conversations with folks on the convention floor, and as well online! With the newly scheduled date for SCC, and BTS currently with no designated dates announced, it would make one hell of a story if they both fall on the same dates in 2019, wouldn't it?
