Gorillaz - The Mountain, The Moon Cave and The Sad God

Nearly 9-minuter animated short film from Gorillaz has dropped, alongside their latest (9th) studio album "The Mountain" (Album listen HERE on TUNESTALKSG and full playlist here on YouTube)

Produced and animated by the independent animation studio The Line, the short was made "entirely from hand-drawn animations and used cel animation techniques inspired by films such as The Jungle Book and One Hundred and One Dalmatians." (Info Source / Full credits here)

The film provides "a condensed explanation about what is being sung about on this record, which is essentially the story of life," shared Jamie Hewlett, who added: "The mountain is a metaphor for life. The bottom of the mountain is vast, with many green jungles and many paths, many opportunities, and the higher you climb, the more narrow it becomes. And if you make it to the top of the mountain, what is beyond that? And that is essentially reincarnation."

I remember a time when I was FULLY into Gorillaz = from Jamie Hewlett's art ("Tank Girl"), to the animated personas, and heavily desired their TOYS, of which I've scant only 2 in my hoard = 2D from SuperPlastic and Gorillaz from Kidrobot! Never got myself more tho, the allure faded as soon as I stopped listening to them actively, beyond my featuring them on the blog. The combined power of media (MV, music and toys) compelled me muahahahahaha
