seen @ ciak asian tour, singapore, kinokuniya (oct 15-31)
currently on display @ Kinokuniya, Ngee Ann City, Singapore (til 31st October) is the CIAK Asian Tour featuring works from both Hong Kong and Singaporean-artists/designers [blogged] with two island-displays within the 3rd-floor premises, one in front of the Graphic Novels-section and the other amongst the Art / Photography section.
truth be told, i was as much interested in the vinyl-toys on display (heh) as i was the artist-sketches; which unfortunately (most) were displayed/kept within the acrylic-boxes (handy print-out page replicas are available tho) - and the individual toys left me awe-struck (most of them i've only seen online, sad man is i :p) - Tim Tsui's Da Mincis were pretty impressive, as was Winson Ma's detailed-laden Firespecter (dammit i wished i could just lift up the boxes and run away with them! LOL) and i haveta say, Toby Yeung's Holy MD was a massive vinyl-beast! and Alice Chan's LIONS were pretty darn charming too :)
not to forget the Singaporean-collection of works, most notably the insanely-detailed sketches of Daren Lauchengco, the cool cardboard cd-holder-robo from Gagatree and the possible makings of toy-figures from Hadie Ahmad (aka Project Burnerz) = *neato*
