Hockey Samurai Warrior by XAVIER (Prototype Sculpt)
Xavier of HTXB aka "House That Xavier Built" shares with us a prototype sculpt of his new toy dubbed HOCKEY SAMURAI WARRIOR - featuring an awesome amalgam of a hockey-player and the iconology of a feudal Japanese samurai warrior!
Standing 10 inches tall, HSW tots a 10-12 inch Hockey Sword Stick and will be a DIY resin figure made in a run of 100 to 125 - in either white or grey. Currently there is no release date scheduled, but eventually will be made available online via his website (currently under construction / bigcartel-it Xavier!). Stay tuned for further developments on TRE and CLICK THRU to have a closer look at Hockey Samurai Warrior!
A sculptor turned toy designer and animation creator, Xavier hails from Pontiac, MI , Los angeles and is currently living in Vancouver, BC.
Xavier-says: "I created this Samurai due to the fact my love for my Detroit Redwings and that I really dig samurai warriors. This is a really cool East meets West design very original and nothing else out there like it. I want to see something different out there so here you have it. I am not your average designer, I have to think wayyy out of the box!"
Man, I'd like to see HSW battle it out with Tim Tsui's DaFighter Lupus or even his DaWarrior! (Genre and style-comparisons are inevitable, methinks). Hockey Sword Stick versus Battle-Mace! A caged death-match! = oh what a tussle that would make!
