umbrella academy pvc toys by dark horse

Further to my earlier feature of the upcoming UMBRELLA ACADEMY toy seen @ SDCC, illustrator Gabriel Bá has posted a sweet video on his myspace-blog [via MikeyWayOnline] of the PVC-figurines, showing their scale, and maaaaan, do I want a set of them pronto! LOL

Gabriel blogs: "Every kid likes toys. Some of these kids like characters so much they grow up to become storytellers who will create more characters. Some of them will become comicbook creators. And all of them would love to see their characters become little toys ... I've been following and aproving every step on the process of making this set and we're all very happy with the results. Soon, all of us will be able to have a litlle set on our shelves at home."

"The Umbrella Academy is a comic book limited series written by Gerard Way of the rock band My Chemical Romance. The comic features illustrations by Gabriel Bá, cover art by James Jean, colours by Dave Stewart and letters by Blambot's Nate Piekos. The six-issue limited series is released by Dark Horse Comics, the first issue making its premiere on September 19, 2007.[1] (See: 2007 in comics) Rumors have it that it is now becoming a feature film only to be released in the US in early 2009. It won the 2008 Eisner Award for Best Finite Series/Limited Series." [wiki]

Coming from Dark Horse (release details undetermined), The Umbrella Academy figurines made their debut @ the recent San Diego Comic Convention 2008 [PEEP]. Meanwhile the second series of the comicbook (after "Apocalypse Suite") debuts in November with the 6-issue UMBRELLA ACADEMY: DALLAS [PRESS] - featuring an alternate cover by Jim Lee (below-right / below-left is by Gabriel Bá).
