wanted on the silver screen
when i first read months back about Mark Millar's WANTED (with exquiste hyper-art by J.G Jones) being optioned for a feature film, i couldn't really believe it ~ becoz altho i'd loved the lava-hot hardcore content of hyper-violence, loadsa decadent sex and near-total corruptible power ~ i couldn't imagine Hollywood having the balls to actually do it ... (but then again, tis all about $$$, innit?)
but now Hollywood has proven me dead-wrong (again :p) with the announcement of Timur Bekmambetov (Nightwatch) as the director (but not before another comicbook-to-screen adaptation; The Red Star - also read more @Twitch) and actor James McAvoy as Wesley Gibson (The Killer)
"...in 1986, all the world's supervillains decided to band together and use their vast collective powers ... to eliminate all the world's superheroes and rewrite reality in their own dark image ... Superheroes are remembered only as fiction and behind the scenes a cabal of the leading supervillains runs everything. In the new violent, crime-ridden reality ... meek Mama's boy Wesley Gibson discovers that his father was a criminal called the Killer, and that Wesley has inherited his perfect aim and uncanny skill with any weapon. Wesley now enters a new life, and must deal with the most dangerous and evil people in the world — whose ranks now include Wesley himself." [via] = *delish*

just hope they don't go watering down anything - apparently tis gonna be rated-R (just don't change it to a wimpy-PG-version; is all ima asking please) ... and on the toy-front? mayhap super-villains might become the new merchandizing avenue, eh? i reckon we'd start seeing some super-villains kitbashes soon too, innit? *schweet*
