Hope In Hell custom-Teddy Troop by custard4gravy (May 27-drop)
HOPE IN HELL is the title of this 3.5 inch Teddy Troop-custom by Andy Mitchell aka custard4gravy and is set for a online release on Wednesday 27th May @ 7pm (GMT) London-time @ custard4gravy.bigcartel.com - with a price of £35 for this 1-of-1 hand-painted custom. CLICK THRU to read a quick cyber-chat I had with Andy, about the custom's conception [including slideshow-pics] - which I am quite enjoying at the moment, with the pile'o'skulls and the wee birdy perched aside waiting to pick at them? *Neatoramic*
TOYSREVIL: How big is this custom, Andy? Is it the 3.5 incher TT? And was it a commissioned piece?
ANDY MITCHELL: Yep 3.5 inch teddy troops, with super sculpey base, painted with acrylics, not commissioned, so will be availabel in the custard4gravy store at 7pm (GMT) london time on Weds 27th may... custard4gravy.bigcartel.com.
TOYSREVIL: Why the name "Hopeinhell"? And what was the concept you had intended for this custom? Describe the custom.
ANDY MITCHELL: The piece is called "Hopeinhell" .... and features a bird siting on an egg, on top of a huge pile of skulls. The bird motif appears in a lot of my work, as do skulls. The skull representing death or an end, were as the bird represent Hope, freedom, escape, and choice. So even amongst all the death and destruction (Hell), this little bird is bringing a new life into the world and therefore hope... ie Hope in Hell.

TOYSREVIL: Cheers for your time, Andy. In closing, please do share with us, WHO IS ANDY MITCHELL?
ANDY MITCHELL: I work under the name Custard4gravy as i wanted a name that stuck in peoples heads.... as something a little different !!
My real names Andy Mitchell, i'm 35 and have been working full time as a greeting card illustrator / designer for about the last 12 or so years. The custard4gravy alas give me chance to do stuff that I wouldn't be able to do at work. Also spending all day designing in photoshop, illustrator and painter on a Mac, its nice to come home and get a bit more hands on with paints and printing etc
