Gruff House is closing down and a "Closing Down Sale" is scheduled to start July 6th with 20% to 30% off most (possibly all) items. "So please spread the word and stop by in July to support our awesome independent toy makers. Our sincerest thanks to all of you for your interest in the Gruff House project." ~ Do check out http://gruffhouse.com ~ stat!
Barely a year into it's conception (Gruff House was launched July 26th 2009), this comes as quite a shocker of a news on a rainy-Wednesday. I contacted Jon Knox (aka Hello, Brute) one of the pioneers of this endeavor, for the reason/s behind this current status:
"Gruff House was an experiment to promote independent toymakers and we're really proud of the work we did with it in the last year. We had a talented and diverse group of artists, and we able to meet new artists and toymakers in the process. While we're sorry to let Gruff House go, Tim and I both have other projects that require our full attention so we've decided to put it on an indefinite hiatus. We're so grateful for the positive response and support we've received for the project, and we look forward seeing what's next in the world of handmade toys." ~ Jon Knox.
