Custom-Feature: The Guardian by Mike Graham for "Big Trouble In Little Chinatown" @ Dragatomi (April 9-launch)
We've posted teasers of Mike Graham aka Zombie Monkie's GUARDIAN custom for the "Big Trouble in Little China" show at Dragatomi (launching April 9 / Online Previews here), and now we have snaps and words of the full-reveal. Read+View ON!
CUSTOM-TEXT: Pulled directly from the celluloid frames of 80's cult classic "Big Trouble in Little China" Mikie Graham is proud to unveil his newest toy monstrosity "The Guardian."
Created for this weekend's "Big Trouble in Little China" tribute show at Dragatomi, Mikie went all out on this piece. Built from a Mega Munny head and over 5 lbs of Magic Sculpt, this 1/1 scale recreation captures the film's gruesome creature in full life size!
CUSTOM-TEXT-CONTINUED: Although only seen for a few seconds of screen time, The Guardian is one of Big Trouble's most memorable characters, a floating blob of eyeballs that serves as bad guy Lo Pan's mobile security system. As character "Egg Shen" says in the film "The Guardian, what it sees Lo Pan knows"
Working with the Munny's natural head shape, Mikie used the inward slope of the nose for the Guardian's huge eyeball, and the Munny's ear's as negative space for the beast's tentacle eyeballs to seemingly float in mid air. For added play value Mikie attached his creation to a lazy Susan base, allowing it to be spun in any direction for a better view of the monster from all angles!
