Monsters & Misfits by Circus Posterus @ Kusakabe, Japan (April 14-public display / April 11-online sale)

"2:46pm on April 11 (Japan Standard Time) will mark one month from the horrendous earthquake disaster.  The past one month for Tomenosuke-syoten was also a time when we were deeply moved by kindness of numerous art & toy creators.  The TOYS HELP US program, which initially came off as a small thought, managed to invite more than 100 toys and art works specially prepared for the charity sale.  These items shall be put to sale on the 11th at 3pm, following a moment of silence at 2:46pm." ~mentions Shinji-san, owner of Tomenosuke and organizer of the event in Japan.

Shinji continues: "Also, 13th April is the opening of Monsters and Misfits Exhibition, which began with our exchange with Brandt a year ago by you and planned and prepared as an exhibition project in Japan since then. The venue is Kusakabe, a designated important cultural property, a historical architecture, and a museum.

Originally, the opening was supposed to have Brandt, Kathie and Chris, the ones who contributed their works to the exhibition, but their visit was unfortunately cancelled due to the earthquake disaster and nuclear plant accidents. Nevertheless, the invited works are marvelous, and the preparation is steadily under way.  A preview site is already partially open. "


Shinji concludes: "At noon on the 14th (Japan Standard Time), all works shall be available for viewing.  This exhibition is also a charity event, and, through the deep understanding and cooperation of the participating artists, the entire sales from the catalogs commemorating the exhibition and a portion of profits from limited edition toys and printed items shall be donated to the affected areas."
