Toy-Review: Bernard by Scott Tolleson from Android 2 Mini Collectible by DYZ Plastic
TOY-STORY: As previously blogged, the Android Mini Collectibles Series 2 is the second series release featuring the Google Android mascot as a 3-inch tall toy as produced and released by DYZ Plastic. Each display case consists of 16 x blind boxed containing a randomly placed toy within, with BERNARD part of the basic assortment, with a ratio of 1/16 - which essentially mean you might get one figure in a selection of 16 figures.
This box of Androids Series 2 is courtesy of The Taken Shop (The Official Distributer of Androids in Malaysia). You are able to procure the set or single boxes online via http://www.takenshop.com.

Designed by U.S.A.-based artist Scott Tollson [Stolleart.com] - one of three invited artists for this series - I had asked Scott what his inspiration for his Android design was from, to which he answered: "My inspiration for Bernard was inspired by my Otis and Otto toy set and my overall love for nerd art. I wanted to do a design of a character that had high pants and glasses. Also, something that was cute and would appeal to nerd sympathizers."
Design-wise, this seems to be the most elaborate on an Android form in Series 2, with multiple muted colors and crisp lines for graphic depiction, including the argyle-design and the surprising munchkin peeping out of the trouser-back, makes for a swell designed-figure, IMHO. The "stolle"-signature print at the base of the figure is a delightful touch to an outstanding figure, IMHO.
