Kidrobot @ New York Comic Con 2011
Kidrobot at New York Comic Con will see a small series of releases (hardly the juggernaut of SDCC) as well as signings. Here is a short summary of what KRonikle has listed.
Shown above-left are: (A) SOUTH PARK DEAD KENNY 3-inch GID Edition and (B) STREET FIGHTER BLANKA 3-inch GID Edition - both limited to 1000pcs each and priced at US$11.95 each. As well 'Get Bent' with MAD as he will be signing in celebration of his new Bent World Beats mini series at the Kidrobot Booth 774 on Friday, October 14 from 12-2pm.
KR continues their Scavenger Hunt "tradition" with OPERATION: BLINDBOX - featuring daily hunts at NYCC, with missions listed for folks to collect at NYCC to eventually bring back to Kidrobot Booth #774 and score some prizes.
And here's a lil something that has been gaining a somewhat divided opinion of it's existence, in the past week since it has been announced: the YANKEE PIG DOG: BIOLOGICAL WARFARE EDITION. All I can add at this point is, I thank KR for "legitimizing" shoddy-workmanship and offering them up for sale as-is - along with quirky and cheeky-description of it's lack of production quality. And while this might be "new" in the art toy world, it is something we've been seeing for quite some time now, particularly at the AS-IS-Corner of IKEA< isn't it? Heh. The designer of the figure KRONK seems to find this release "funny" it seems, innit? So who are we to say anything?
