Ode To Agent Phil Coulson
BE-WARNED: *STORY-SPOILERS FOR THE AVENGERS*
From his deadpan appearance in IRON MAN 2, Agent Phil Coulson seemed the "face" of S.H.I.E.L.D. - in his sharp black suit and clip-badge, he then appeared in THOR with an even substantial role, before his tenure in THE AVENGERS and his ultimate (possible) demise, while attempting to stop LOKI from escaping, wielding a Tesseract-powered assault blaster (that The Red Skull and Hydra made and used for WW2? Which S.H.I.E.L.D. could not harness, decades later?). The 'coolest' man in the movie - and by that I also meant the most serene and calm mortal-being - got zapped and thereafters went to the heavens where all good, decent Agents go … and while the www is rife with theories that Coulson would become The VISION (would be swell, wouldn't it?), we can only but await the next installment of the Avengers to see what happens next to Phil ...if there is a "next"…
[See more custom-Phil Coulson action figure by Jin Saotome (aka John Mallamas) here]
Hey, I was just as shocked when The Whedon killed 'Wash' in 'Serenity' as much as everyone, so that's that for the fate of Coulson … i guess? Here are some select videos in Ode To Phil Coulson:
(Interview with Clark Gregg starting with Iron Man 2)
(Agent Coulson meets Pepper Potts)
(Available exclusively on the "Thor" Blu-ray)
"A funny thing happened on the way to Thor´s Hammer"
(Bonus from Captain America : First Avenger Blu-ray)
(End Credits of Iron Man 2)
Coulson sings his Avengers-theme
