Star Wars Day Bandung on June 24
May the 4th might be over, but in Indonesia, there is a new date to look out for: June 24th as it is a new designated "Star Wars Day Bandung 2012"!
STARWARS DAY BANDUNG 2012 celebrates 35 years of Star Wars in one day with a slew of activities starting at 8am and ending at 10pm @ Gedung Indonesia Menggugat, Bandung, Indonesia. Within the scope of one single day, visitors can experience the multitude of Star Wars fandom culture, and as well hang outs with other likeminded fanboys, and check out the fan communities that are available, through these activities:
STAR WARS EXHIBITION:
- SW Toys + dioramas exhibition (3 ¾,12",micro machines,vintage)
- SW props and collectibles exhibition (helmet ,weapons, lightsabers, cereal prizes, etc)
- SW costumes exhibition
- The exhibition will also feature a Star Wars Infographic,
outlining the facts along the 35 years' journey.
MINI BAZAAR:
- SW toys and collectibles market, with 15 booths to shop at!
SWDBDG THEATRES:
- A nonstop epic-marathon screening of Ep 1 through 6
- SW documentaries and fan movies Screening
LIGHTSABER TOURNAMENT:
- Urban Jedi’s saber academy
(a chance for noobie to try out the sport of light saber)
- 1st Indonesian Light saber open tournament
(battle ,spin, choreo and saber smith competition
for Jakarta and Bandung’s lightsaber fighter)
ART PROJECT:
- ‘Star Wars art of toys photography' by Seno Haryo
- ‘Perang bintang' art exhibition
(35 artists were asked to submit a work to the theme of “My Starwars”)
- Live painting by MUTE
- SW themes DJ remixes
"Bounty hunter" GAMES
A unique sweepstakes games, where visitor can win Star Wars prizes,
by participating in all the event’s activities.

A gathering of Indonesia’s Star Wars communities,
Order 66, Order 66 Bandung, Urban Jedi, Jakarta Saber,
Fightsaber, 501st Indonesia, etc
WHY: 2012 marked the 35th anniversary of the Starwars saga. A great excuse to gather all the fanboy and fan clubs in a one day event, that will recap the last 35 years, and see how a 1977 space fantasy movie can leave its marks on the whole modern world, even in Bandung, Indonesia.
