QiQis by Ziqi Wu x Creo Design
And while I had just posted about custom hand-drawn QiQis circa STGCC, here's a closer look at the production QiQis instead from creator Ziqi Wu of Monster Little (Thanks for the gifts, my friend!), as produced by CREO Design.
Essentially there are three colorways [Blogged]: Red, Glossy Red and Glossy Black. The fourth Silver-on-Black is a series of exclusive edition hand-paints by Ziqi himself, made available at STGCC itself, and as well a 5th Blank QiQi - which is actually finished in a slightly satin-gloss pearlescent surface. Hardly a straight-up DIY version, which I reckon you'd need to prime before :hardcore" customizing on it … or simply doodle on with your Sharpie or marker, without the fuss of the priming?
One of the biggest questions for me, since seeing them online, is that if they could actually STAND on their own? From my set, the answer is a 'YES' (although 1/5 could barely stand by itself lol). But for sure they'll be shelf-divers, so a little blu-tek goes a long way :)
And that they are actually articulated in both their arms and it's neck, is quite a plus, even for a figurine as diminutive as this, IMHO. Kudos all around!
Do contact Ziqi to score these goodies, or order direct from CREO if you are overseas. I am extremely happy to have these in my collection!
