#SOTOYS Artist Profiles Directory & Of Promoting Yourself
Saturday March 7th will see the 2015 Edition of SOTOYS (Self Original Toys) come to an end (I expect more exhibitions to come, folks!), since been displayed in Lou Belle Shop, Bandung, Indonesia, launched February 28th. Activities for wrapping up this inaugural event include an "Artist Talk" (4pm-END).
What is interesting about this show, are that most of the participants are not necessarily full time practitioners of the art toy genre, or even a "known name" in said International circuit, and all the more amazing they've decided to ban together to do a show / an exhibition, to showcase their vision, their art, and with my insistence / suggestion; introduce themselves to readers of my blog. Check out the linked "Artist Profiles" of select works (listed below the image montage of their respective works), to get to know them, and their art a little better.

TOYSREVIL is proud to have been the Official Media Partner for SOTOYS 2015 :)
I have folks say to me, I blog mostly about "well known" artists and designers, but the fact of the matter is, they could well have simply just built up a decent mailing system, and informed folks - like the TOYSREVIL-blog - about their works. And while I am not extolling the virtues of "mailing lists" or "press releases", but in the vast sea of information and yes, even "artists", you'd need to find a way to "get your work/name out there". Sometimes, a straight up email would help … and I don't mean "check out my website" and that's it, yeah?
Hey, I know it's not the easiest of things to do, as I'd imagine all you'd want to do all day is to paint / design / sculpt, as opposed to managing your social media outlets, much less draft up a press release! But quite simply, we cannot blog about you if we don't know what you have to blog about.
Food for Thought on a balmy Saturday afternoon :)
Cheers
Andy TOYSREVIL
