Toy Review: FIEND by Josh fplus Pierce

FIEND by Josh f+ Pierce was released in 2012, in a variety of editions and colorways, and I had the good fortune of purchasing a couple of them direct from his online shop, with the yellow-hued Autumnal Fiend edition limited to 13pcs (I have 5/13), while the purple-hued DesignerCon edition was limited to 15pcs (mine is 8/15).
Standing nearly 3-inches tall, these self-casted and hand-painted resin figures might feature zero articulation, but they are huge on character! And as a somewhat fan of chubby toys, the tubby lad of fiend is pretty adorable, indeed! I really like this guy :)

Priced at US$45 (excluding shipping), the figures come bagged and tagged with header card, and includes a huge round sticker brandishing a fplus illustration and brand! Truthfully, I've not been able to support as many indie toys as much as I'd like to have through the years, but receiving this and holding the splendid pee in my hand, I reckon this is quite value of money - the effort, the paint app, and as importantly, the character design, really fell in place all in a sweet package, for me.
And having admired his fantastic custom work on art toys, it was a no-brainer for me to secure an "original" design from him :)
I had reaaaaally wanted the Gojira edition, but had since lost the financial ability to snag them online … there were quite a few editions too, including Winter Fiend, and if I could, I would've collected the entire FIEND CLUB!

Much has been released since then, and you can see more snaps here and as well FIEND.02. You can check out more of his figurines for sale via www.fplusnever.com/store, which includes his new range of cute-critters; "Babbies".
I've never truly featured images of the Fiends (I used to have a "thing" where I do not review my toy purchases) until now, with these more of an archival picture post then anything, as the figures no longer are available for purchase. Or maybe you could convince Mr. Pierce otherwise …? :)
Cheers
