#Supergirl on Television
"It's not a bird. It's not a plane. It's not a man. It's Supergirl.
Born on the planet Krypton, Kara Zor-El escaped amid its destruction years ago with her famous cousin. Now at the age 24, she finally embraces her superhuman abilities to be the hero she was always meant to be.
In the new drama from the world of DC Comics, Superman's cousin, Kara Zor-El, embraces her superhuman abilities and becomes the hero she was always meant to be. This Fall on CBS." (Text)
When the first image of this new incarnation of Supergirl hit the web not too long ago, I was apprehensive - not for the lack of action (whatever it may ensue), but for the darker-looking costume all superhero-costumes look these days, like the "real world" is all gritty and grimy (except for Spider-Man, but that was over texturized for my tastes anyways) … seeing the costume here now, especially with a cute girl (I am not gonna lie), I am actually quite excited to watch this series! Of course the action and tone seen in the trailer above is "interesting" as well (excluding the "Ally McBeal" I could do without, fhanks) and a take on the "secret identity" phenom is intriguing, and I want to see how it plays out.
**Loads of screengrabs since posted HERE on my #iLikeTeeVee-blog :)
One other stand out factor which endears this to me (at least the trailer did), was that they showed something which was sorely missing from recent incarnation(s) of celluloid Superman - The ripping open of the shirt/blouse to see the "S" chest crest! Score one for us old-timey-geeks! YAY
