UNKLE x SUPER7 2017
You know, sometimes you might end up wishing for stuff that’ll happen you cannot afford to own, and in my line of “personal economically-challenged state”, wishing for toys is a double-edged blade. Get cut wishing for toys that don’t “exist”, and when they DO EXIST, I can’t afford them! Please pardon my constant toy-whining, but alas, announcing this next slice of toy-news has gut me like a fat fish lor!
Super7 has since announced their collaboration with UNKLE (teased here) IS INDEED ACTION FIGURES!
The UNKLE77 figure will come in a life-size UNKLE77 head box (that silhouette shown actually “meant” something!) that will also contain one of three 7″ records and a clear record adapter that doubles as a display stand. A real “collectible” to be had - especially from UNKLE - with a vinyl record, and not too many of that related to “toys” too, IMHO!
There will be three different box sets: A pink one that contains a single of “The Road” and a pink camo figure, a blue set that features the single “Nowhere to Run” and a blue camo figure, and a green set that comes with a copy of the single “Looking for the Rain” and a green camo action figure.
The different boxes will be limited to 500 versions of each, priced at only US$50 per set. You can imagine how high it'll go in the secondary market, yeah? I daren't to shudder :p
There will also be exclusive Super7 x UNKLE Apparel Capsule Collection available (featured in full HERE on #iliiike)!
The box sets and apparel will all be launching at the UNKLE pop-up shop at the Super7 San Diego store on Saturday - 7/22 and Sunday - 7/23. There will be an in-store appearance by James Lavelle on Saturday (22nd) at 2:00pm!
Super7 San Diego store (@ 701 8th Avenue San Diego, CA 92101 619-339-2642 / Instagram @super7sandiego) is also the venue for “Skeletor’s Lair” circa San Diego Comic Con 2017 (July 20–23) were “Skelebrations” are afoot! OMG I want to go there…

PRESS: "After James Lavelle celebrated the release of UNKLE‘s 1998 album Psyence Fiction by releasing a limited number of resin UNKLE77 action figures, the figures became a collector’s item. This reputation was enhanced by the fragility of the figures, which meant that the majority haven’t made it to the present day. To celebrate UNKLE’s 25th anniversary, Lavelle has returned to the figures and collaborated with San Francisco based art toy manufacturer Super7 to recreate the figures."
